Simone Bonanni studied Industrial Design at IED Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan. In 2012 he moved to Amsterdam, where he joined the team of Marcel Wanders. Back in Milan in 2015, he founded Simone Bonanni Studio (SBS).
SBS focuses on industrial product design and limited-edition projects, maintaining a committed and customised approach, continually striving to forge a connection between the product and its user that begins with an emotional bond and evolves into a physical experience. SBS places significant emphasis on the communicative strength of objects, perceiving them as "catalysts of emotions" rather than mere material entities. Over time, the focus of the work has transitioned from the technical design of the object to crafting the emotions it can evoke, prioritising the domain of perception over the tangible material dimension.
SBS currently works on projects for international brands such as Alessi, Moooi, MDF Italia, FIAM, Falper, Mingardo and many others. The works of SBS have been published in world-renowned magazines including Zeit Magazin, Dezeen, Abitare, Elle Decoration, Elle Decor, Il Sole 24 Ore, Marie Claire Maison, Interni, Domus and many more.
Since 2015 Simone Bonanni has been teaching at IED Istituto Europeo di Design and IED Master in Milan.
