Designed by Giorgio Bonaguro for Carpanese Home, Tachi XL is a desk defined by organic forms and generous proportions, born from the meeting of memory and contemporary gesture. The project stems from a reinterpretation of certain archetypes of Italian design from the late 1970s. Its name evokes a long, curved Japanese sword – a symbol of dynamism, precision and controlled strength. These qualities become the formal principles of the design: the continuous tension of the curved top, the sense of momentum and balance, and the relationship between mass and lightness. This reference also takes shape in the metal undershelf, a continuous and luminous element that runs through the structure like a suspended blade, beneath which a practical drawer unit is integrated. Here lies the identity of the entire Tachi collection – composed of two desks and a console – objects that are at once classic and radically contemporary. More than functional pieces, they interpret the desk and console as domestic and professional landscapes: places for concentration, movement and interaction with space and architecture.
