A finely restored old barn, the soft light of the passing seasons, the neutral colours of nature and an ensemble of tactile surfaces and textures. These are the elements of a journey through the Carpanese Home collections shot by Silvia Rivoltella.
From dawn to dusk, the images portray domestic spaces furnished with beds, consoles, cupboards, seats and tables that can be combined and rearranged. They evoke places to experience and seek refuge in. Cosy, hospitable, at times intimate and at times social.
The Rising Light
Slow movements, uncertain steps like the light before dawn, barely evoking the outline of the furniture. The aroma of hot coffee leads the way through corridors dotted with console tables, soft sofas where you can snatch a last few minutes of rest, spying the first light of day. In the silence of dawn.
A.M.
Mornings, both on weekends and vacations, when your alarm clock does not ring and natural light dictates your rhythm. An unmade bed to leave, a cabinet to rummage through, a coffee table to cover with books. Those raided from the library, which have to be rearranged by the evening. No hurry
Noon. After it
Soft afternoon light illuminates and invades rooms, revealing unexpected details. The geometric shapes of a sofa soften and material inlays reveal themselves in a new light, exposing details. It’s the time of the unusual, of lengthening shadows, of golden reflections. The Golden Hour is near.
Golden Hour
Rooms become intimate and muffled; perception fades and natural light makes way for soft lighting and candles. This is the time to bring together the seating, grouping the poufs around the dinner table. It looks like a sculpture; what a shame to cover it up. Dessert is enjoyed informally and comfortably just by reconfiguring the table arrangement next to the sofa. A toast. Evening has come.
